And So it Begins

It has been 12 days since we departed the states and I feel a bit remiss for not writing sooner. Luna, Josh and I are on a cruise ship in the Baltic Sea with my Mom and her husband Darryl, exploring new and known places. I had a lot of expectations of what these places would hold, and how I would see them, and as always, experience has triumphed over expectation and proven me wrong.

Since we left Nashville, we’ve been to The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia and Finland. We’ve been to museums about Banksy & Van Gogh. We’ve eaten lots of pickled fish, smoked fish, kippered fish & raw fish. We even got to see the end of Game of Thrones without any spoiler alerts reaching us across the pond. In Stockholm, we got to see our family there and it was so nice to squeeze Malin and Jimmy, even if for a day. In Copenhagen, Denmark, we went segwaying and Luna hit a car (it was parked, she’s okay) and we saw the Queen! When Luna walked into the grocery store in Copenhagen, she said, “No wonder these are the happiest people in the world- look at all the sweets!”

The first 10 days of our travels were all cobblestones, lingonberries and sunshine- things fitting pretty perfectly into our expectations, and then there was Russia.

    1. Hi Kathy,
Thanks for reaching out- I was a bit nervous the whole Segway ride, but allowing her to do it and fail is part of parenting, I guess. She did really well overall and thank goodness the mishap wasn’t more than that. If you ask Luna, she had a blast! Have a great Summer. Xo

  4. Love your pictures! Sounds like your having an amazing time so far, and it’s only just begun. Can’t wait to see more photos and hear more about the trip. I Hope it’s greater than what you can imagine!
